Hotseat game status: - Sicily has won on turn 115

Players (in turn order): (with links to write-ups) plus some other links where I consider it to be funny

Selifator: England
Kilij Ae Varyl: Spain

Venice - FACTION DESTROYED

Me Sicily

EoJ: Turks
I think I might have referenced this video before in the first crusade
This might be more appropriate... Looks like I was right there

Rankings - Turn 101

Rankings - Turn 69

Subs
Glacier_Girl played as sub for England - T29, T30
- played as sub for Sicily - T33

Monty501 played as sub for Spain T30, T 31
JuBuOrangie played as sub for Venice - T31 to T40
Lloydsgamble played as sub for Venice T41 to 42
Brutiangodofrock played as sub for Venice T43 to T65
Zsmart one played as sub for Turks T50 to T65
Hashoosh played as sub for Turks T64

Rules to note:

No 'exploiting' of any kind (e.g. putting forts on resources and stocking them with merchants) nor reloading your go to get a better result.

If I don't hear from a player within 4 days of receiving a turn, I will try to find a sub to take the turn.

If you don't expect to be able to play within 4 days, just let me know - extensions are fine (preferably not too often though please). I'll send a reminder email after a couple of days as a prompt.

If you expect an extended absence, e.g. not being able to play for over a week, you're invited to arrange a sub, giving them instructions etc so your turn is played as you'd like it to be.

An 'un-arranged' sub has the option to take over after 2 weeks or 10 turns The '2 weeks' here looks a little low, but the turn limit looks high?

I was wondering how Venice had wronged England there - I see what you mean now though.

I know we have a number of the same players as hotseatB, but could we keep the overlap between the two games to a "ahh, I see that he's X type of player" rather than "You swine! You attacked me in that game so I'll attack you in this one". I don't mean to suggest anyone would, but raising it should hopefully make it easier for everyone to avoid doing accidentally.

Have no worries. We are not the type to hold that kinda grudges, are we Selfy? *nudges*

Anyway, game sent to England.

You claim that you hope that it won't be limited to "ahh, I see that he's X type of player" rather than "You swine! You attacked me in that game so I'll attack you in this one". " yet in the starting post you claim that the savegame's with "Save game currently with: HRE - Hoppylyte - turn 14." Thought it was a mistake that I'd point out.

Honestly though, I don't mind if the situation stated above did happen. It forces a extra degree of diplomacy onto you. For example, I was briefly considering attacking Bandito's moors in the other hotseat but then I realized that he was my neighbour in this one. Best not to agitate your neighbours. However, Seli is all the way in England so I doubt I'll have to worry about much unless he somehow coerces Bandito and EoJ to turn on me. Unless EoJ still holds a grudge on me...

Edit: Who has the savegame? If EoJ sent it to me then my mailbox is empty.

Ahh, well, Venice and HRE are coming out quite similarly. Ahem.

The save was sent by EoJ on the 9th to your usual email address - I've forwarded it on again to you though.

edit Nope, I'm a muppet - it's now with England for turn 15 - that was an old email I just forwarded

It's been a long morning already

Too little sleep eh? Nah, I'm not going to hold grudges in this hotseat but I'll certainly take revenge in the other, Italian style!!! Namely a troubadour who will sing dirty songs about you and your ancestors! Hahihahiha!

You can't say that civilization don't advance, however, for in every war they kill you in a new way.

Chauvinism is not a particularly nice trait at the best of times but can be suicidal when the person your talking too can have you executed on a whim.

Facebook, anyone?

May I ask what the name of this... troubadour is Selifator?

As an update, it's on to Hoppy.

How England got its army all the way to Venice last go seems a mystery though

I almost believed you for a second there swampy after looking at my overall rankings. Then I just realized that I've just been short on cash and production. I've sent it to you Swamp.

Sorry, was just pulling your leg - and also, your go is between Englands and mine so you'd find out first anyway

As for the save, could you resend it please as it appears to have been lost in the post somewhere (must have come unglued from the email).

edit:
Turn 15 sent to Bandito

Venice seems to have attacked Milan and Hungry, rather than being attacked by Hungry. Tisk tisk, naughty Venice.

Why on earth would I want to attack Hungary? It's lands are worthless, and it means that I'll have to fight on multiple fronts.

We will see soon enough who attacked who, when Hoppy's territory rankings shows up. Hoppy, IMO, is a player who likes to stretch his forces to the limit, so I wouldn't be surprised that he took on his own ally. There was a precedent.

Well, the territory ranking seems to show Hungry going up and Venice down (they attacked with siege engines or bribed to get something within one turn?) but when I selected the option to not side with the aggressor (since one ally had attacked another) it left me allied with Hungry. Which was rather confusing.

I'd quite like to give you the benefit of the doubt, but that'd mean the game was lying and that just gets weird.

Who has Vienna? that's not worthless iirc.

As long as the place hasn't changed hands, Vienna is a HRE town.

Sending Selifator the save right now.

It does appear that Hungary attacked Venice, at least from the charts. Venice's reputation is at rock bottom though, so it is possible that Hoppy attacked Hungary first. Maybe his reputation was greatly lowered because he attacked Milan...since I'm in the far East, I can never be sure.

BTW, my diplomat, after a long and perilous journey, finally reached northern Italy, just north of the bridge that leads to Bologna. He will be around Italy for some turns, trying to get trade agreements from Milan, HRE, and Sicily. Good chance for you guys to establish diplomatic contacts.

Wait, Hoppy's attacking Milan?
Ooh, that's interesting. I need to strengthen my northern garrisons, methinks.

No worries EoJ, I'm not taking Genoa, I've left that for Swampy.

Hoppy's city of Milan will still pose a threat to Spanish northern holdings though. All will depend on who will have Marseilles.

EDIT: Hoppy, I think we need to come to some agreement over the Alpine areas.

Gotta love the European court intrigues.

Turn 17 save just sent to Selifator, the pompous ruler of the arrogant Englishmen.

Agreed Eoj, here's the deal. You give me free rein to expand there, and in return I won't give you a bloody nose. Just kidding. All I want is Milan, as long as you keep HRE off my back then you can do whatever you want.
