Hotseat game status: - Sicily has won on turn 115

Players (in turn order): (with links to write-ups) plus some other links where I consider it to be funny

Selifator: England
Kilij Ae Varyl: Spain

Venice - FACTION DESTROYED

Me Sicily

EoJ: Turks
I think I might have referenced this video before in the first crusade
This might be more appropriate... Looks like I was right there

Rankings - Turn 101

Rankings - Turn 69

Subs
Glacier_Girl played as sub for England - T29, T30
- played as sub for Sicily - T33

Monty501 played as sub for Spain T30, T 31
JuBuOrangie played as sub for Venice - T31 to T40
Lloydsgamble played as sub for Venice T41 to 42
Brutiangodofrock played as sub for Venice T43 to T65
Zsmart one played as sub for Turks T50 to T65
Hashoosh played as sub for Turks T64

Rules to note:

No 'exploiting' of any kind (e.g. putting forts on resources and stocking them with merchants) nor reloading your go to get a better result.

If I don't hear from a player within 4 days of receiving a turn, I will try to find a sub to take the turn.

If you don't expect to be able to play within 4 days, just let me know - extensions are fine (preferably not too often though please). I'll send a reminder email after a couple of days as a prompt.

If you expect an extended absence, e.g. not being able to play for over a week, you're invited to arrange a sub, giving them instructions etc so your turn is played as you'd like it to be.

An 'un-arranged' sub has the option to take over after 2 weeks or 10 turns The '2 weeks' here looks a little low, but the turn limit looks high?

If it isn't on forced auto-resolve, how would we go by fighting on the battle map against each other? Would the opponent be computer-controlled or would we have to wait until the person yer trying to attack can play his army?

Perhaps, on second thoughts I'll snag Venice instead. Just failed my Portuges campaign after my closest ally Spain turned against me and Obliterated my forces.

I choose you Venice!

Hmm, I'd planned to ally with Venice - may have to rethink that bit

Gagonite, from what EoJ and Bandito have said in their hotseat monogolphobia game, I understand that without autoresolve the attacking player gets to control his army in the battle in the usual way - even when attacking a human player's army. The defending player never gets to fight on the battlemap, even when attacked by the AI.

Ventory, if you see this could you pick a side please (no rush if we aren't starting until january...)

Has everyone got their email address either posted somewhere, on their profile or somewhere else accessable? I'm never sure if just posting them up in a thread is a wise plan...

I think mine is up in the multiplayer sign up thread. If not it's sonofra62@yahoo.com.

Ah alright, well I don't mind either way when it comes to the autoresolve thing then, even if I'm better at defense

I'll toss my email on my profile here in a few.

Sure i'll join; just add the Saxons (Huscarls!) and I'm in

edit: an easy way to do this is to give them York.

I'd like to try out Poland. Never played them before.. so it should be interesting. EMail is
groundmeat1@hotmail.com
Please email me with the details of it and the start date etc. I'm fine with the autoresolve thing. And would this be on VH/VH? Or M/M? Since I've never played VH/VH before.

Oops, I left it long enough over christmas that letting everyone that's recently expressed interest partake would give too many people.

Impspy, there's definitely no way we're modding the saxons in - for starters there's an england player already and it'd also make it too messy.

Ventory hasn't relied for an age so he could get bumped- that'd take us back down to 5. I'd rather not go above 6 as it'll be quite slow as it is (unless everyone is very quick)

Would any of Uladh, sizzlerk, impspy or Hoppylyte be prepared to be a substitute player incase anyone has trouble? If someone knows they won't be able to play for a while (or noone hears from them for a week say) then the game gets passed to the sub player - if it's done by prior notice then the sub would have to respect the wishes of the usual player.

For a start date, how about next Wednesday (14th)?

14th's fine with me, the sooner the better

14th is good for me, though it is the day after LOTR conquest comes out. What's the play order.

Sure, I wouldn't mind being a sub for somebody. Just email me when you need me. Then I guess no poland for me. It must be a sign from God telling me that Poland sucks. :P

Edit: You do mean the retrofit mod from http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=118696right? Because that's what I'm using currently. Also, would this be on VH campaign difficulty?

Well, it seems you guys already have enough people to make a great game. I'll be watching your progress.
Since I do have some MP campaign experience, you are all welcome to e-mail me to discuss strategies, kekeke. javadagreat@yahoo.com

Here is an important point. Make sure you all have the same game version. A saved game on v.1.04 won't work on v.1.05.

Swamprat- Are we going to start a new thread to tell all those lucky people of our shananigans in the campaign?

I think we should follow the principle that EoJ and El Bandito are using in the mongolophobia mod hotseat they're doing - each of us can do our own thread with as much information and discussion as we like, but noone is allowed to look in each other's thread.

It may clog up the multiplayer forum a little, but I don't think anyone will mind as it doesn't get that many new threads in it generally. This thread should also be used as a "I've had my turn, emailed it to X" thread I suppose to keep tabs on that.

I'll launch the hotseat game on the 14th and put in all the factions being used, I don't think it'll take account of the order that I use (could be wrong there but since I don't know I won't be trying to bias it) - at the end of each person's turn it'll come up with the password screen for the next person and say what their country is.

Everyone should email their password to Gaius (and me too as a backup-backup if you trust me, which hopefully you can). Gaius, you never said no to being password holder so I assume you're willing.

Is everyone happy with a 4 day 'timeout' on people's turns? So if you've not passed on the save within 4 days or at least given people notice (this thread will also do for that) then the game is passed on to the backup player. That seems to give a while for people to play as if we all take that long then the game will only come round a couple of times a month...

You'll get more feedback in the war stories forum, by the way. I'll play, and also I suggest ccing some trusted player (Swampy, for instance) the save when you pass it on, so if the next guy goes missing in action we can quickly get the save to the next person.

And I shall go Softly into the Night Taking my Dreams As will You

War stories section will be best for more feedbacks, I agree.

BTW EoJ, I still haven't received your turn 17.

The first turn falls to England - Son of Ra

I'll keep the title post as up to date as I can with whose turn it is. Could people copy me in on transfers of the save game please so that we have a safeish copy.

Passwords to Gaius when you've set them up please, I'm happy to keep a copy too if you're happy for me to have it - hopefully I'm trustworthy :0)

Oh and I don't think this has been mentioned but as a request (rather than a rule) could we avoid allying with the pope please? It always seemed a bit silly to me as it's a touch powerful.
If you want to do it anyway, then fine, just it won't improve your relations with Sicily...

Gagonite - could you un-privatise the email address in your profile (if it's there) please, or we won't be able to send you the save file...

As far as I'm aware, it's sat with Son of Ra - I've not heard back from him with my initial email.

There's nothing like a slow start to make everyone else paranoid...

If I've not heard anything by the end of Friday I'll assume that Son of Ra is out for the time being and pass the game onto the sub (whose name I can't remember without looking further down the screen - a bit of effort too far) - it'd be a shame to start that way but ho hum.
