This is where I'll show people what I'm doing as Gondor in the Third Age hotseat. This is also where I will get help if and when I need it.

And if you don't know both Harad and Mordor are conrtolled by humans, the former by Monty501 and the latter by Hoppylyte.

Oh yeah and if you are:
Monty501,
Hoppylyte,
Fryn or
GameArmada,
Get out and stay out!

Turn 1.

I get the usual first turn message. Its just the House Rules so you don't need to read it.

I raise my taxes to very high and build mines in Minas Tirith and Dol Amroth. Most of my Eastern garrisons are heading to join Ecthelion, who is heading towards Western Osgiliath. Or is he...

Here are the messages I sent to everyone. You'll probably pick out the lies in them. But I really do want an alliance with Harad. Because if I do, then my Southern border will be secure and I'll be able to consentrate on Hoppy.

The part about sending soldiers to help the High Elves and the Dwarves aren't lies. I'm going to send an army north when I can, but all it'll do is take Moria and then stop.

However the message to Mordor is all lies. I only sent Hoppy it so that he didn't get suspitious.

And with that I will await my next turn.
All advice is welcome.

Here is turn 2.
I get offered a young 4-Star general for adoption. I accept withut hesitation.

Here are the replies that I got to the messages I sent last turn. Harad seems annoyed . I'm glad that relations with the Dwarves and High Elves are good. Mordor's reply wasn't as good as I hoped but not as bad as I feared.

Here are the messages I sent. I forgot to take a screenshot of what I sent to the Dwarves but basically, I thanked them for agreeing and said that the matter about Moria would remain open.
I've decided to rattle Harad more. I'm trying to make Monty do something rash.
But for Mordor, I would like to know if I should accept or not. I myself am leaning towards accepting but also getting West Osgiliath. Oh yeah, if I accept, I will tell the Dwarves and High Elves of the situation.

Ths is my Western Troop locations. The general is Steward Ecthelion. I'm bringing up my troops in order to get a larger army. That ship is to help with my plan against Mordor if I refuse Hoppy's offer.

Any help will be appreciated and I hope you can help me with the Mordor dilema.

For the Mordor deal, just to clarify, you would be giving two settlements to get one in return?
posted 08 July 2009 10:49 EDT (US)     4 / 16
All of the settlements are controlled by the rebels. So thats Western Osgiliath, Eastern Osgiliath, Cairn Andros and Emen Arnen. There are other rebel settlements nearby as well but these are the main ones.

A real man wouldn't need to wait for the save! Looking good by the way, hope that Hoppy doesn't stab you in the back. :P

You can't say that civilization don't advance, however, for in every war they kill you in a new way.

Chauvinism is not a particularly nice trait at the best of times but can be suicidal when the person your talking too can have you executed on a whim.

Facebook, anyone?

if i were you i would try to hold the river against mordor at all cost, if you keep a full stack at cair andros, a stack in E. and W. osgiliath, and a half stack of cav on the bridge you can hold against anything. for harad i would attack the very souther border and simply hold him where he is now, that way mordor can't get involved, and you will take the lands capable of creating the mumakil. because as any gondorian know's TROLLS ARE BAD ENOUGH

The thing is, battles against human players are auto-resolved and if I play a defencesive campaign, Mordor will expnad and will be able to use even more soldiers to overwhelm me, or even cross the Anduin further North!

And Monty (who controls Harad) will probably try to launch naval invasion and that's why I'm going to try to build up my navy.

A navy would be the sensible thing. Block the islands at the mouth of the Anduin, and hold onto Ithilian for as long as possible to allow Osgiliath to build up.

i agree, a desperate defence at the mountain will keep him distracted for some time, build up you forces in E. and W. osgiliath, but make sure that the city closest to him has no buildings, as that will be the one he takes first, and you can deprive him of a close resupply point, also be sure to hold the island at the mouth of the river, harad should try to take it asap.

The advantage I have is that Gondor has a 4k income at the atart of the game and I've finnished building mines in Minas Tirith and Dol Amroth so my income has grown.

indeed gondor's best advantage lies in it's income, try to expand south ASAP, this way you can trad with yourself, in my gondor campaign, i control all the seacoast up to the grey haven's it took a lot of money and threats but it has paid off, i'm not fighting the other good nation's... Yet
