Now everyone here likes an underdog and it's great to see the form book ripped apart. So I ask you in your view whether it range from American football, ice hockey, soccer, rugby or any other sport what in your view was a great sporting upset.
Two upsets come to mind in my view. Firstly Ireland's victory over heavily fancied Italy in the group stages. That took everybody by surprise. Secondly I would say the 2005 Champions League final where Liverpool's comeback from 3-0 down at half time against AC Milian to 3-3 and win it on penalites.
So what are your views on great sporting upsets that came out from left field?
General Rawlinson- This is most unsatisfactory. Where are the Sherwood Foresters? Where are the East Lancashires on the right?
Brigadier-General Oxley- They are lying out in No Man's Land, sir. And most of them will never stand again.
Two high ranking British generals discussing the fortunes of two regiments after the disastrous attack at Aubers Ridge on the 9th May 1915.
