The Man with the Laughs

Gooooooooood-byyyyyyye Vietnaaaaam! That's right, I'm history... I'm outta here. I got the lucky ticket home, baby. Rollin, rollin, rollin'... keep them wagons rollin', rawhide! Yeah, that's right... the final Adrian Cronauer broadcast... and this one is brought to you by our friends at the Pentagon. Remember the people who brought you Korea? That's right, the U.S. Army. If it's being done correctly, here or abroad, it's probably not being done by the Army.

In honor of Robin Williams, I've decided to forsake the rules and simple post a lot of what made him special to us: his humor and ability to make us laugh!!

Genie: [turns into a cheerleader] Rick 'em, rack 'em, rock 'em, rake! Stick that sword into that snake!
Jafar: You stay out of this!
Genie: [Weakly] Jafar, Jafar, he's our man; if he can't do it, great!

When Christopher Reeve was in the hospital after his accident, Robin came to visit him. Reeve said this about that surprise visit:
Then, at an especially bleak moment, the door flew open and in hurried a squat fellow with a blue scrub hat and a yellow surgical gown and glasses, speaking in a Russian accent. He announced that he was my proctologist, and that he had to examine me immediately...it was Robin Williams...for the first time since the accident, I laughed. My old friend had helped me know that somehow I was going to be okay.
When Stephan Spielberg was filming "Schindler's List", Robin would call him to cheer him up. I think I only called him once, maybe twice. I called him when I was representing People for the Valdheimers Association. A society devoted to helping raise money to help older Germans who had forgotten everything before 1945. I remember him laughing and going 'thank you.'"

I think I can do about 2/3 of my body weight in squats. I won't do more because I can picture the bar snapping my spine under that weight.

Understandable of them to want to be their own country - there being an ocean in the middle and all. Nevertheless, a sad day for the colonials to renounce their motherland, and which I have observed with due solemnity. I live in hope that some day they will recognise their mistake - not that we would allow them back if they did. Their transgression of the border with the Native Americans in their insatiable greed for more land cannot be forgiven lightly, nor overlooked like all the nasty things we did to natives in all our other provinces.

It certainly has its moments, often swinging wildly between the amazing and the terrible.

It definitely spends too much time on the terrible though.

Your ability even a day later to be able to process and correct DU statment would indicate that you failed in your Operation Drunk as a Sailor. Better luck next year.

Personally, i have never watched Doctor Who, and nor do i have the desire to do so. I just never get it..

I have recently come to the sobering and disturbing realisation that Doctor Who is in fact terrible.
I arrived at that overwhelming sensation near the end of David Tennant's tenure. I watched probably half of Matt Smith's first season, but that's it.

The stories were getting a bit rubbish. Danger, people do stupid things, Doctor warns them, people die, Doctor appears to be about to die, Doctor spouts babble then saves the day.

I enjoy Dr Who, purely for its entertainment value and those witty comments that are made here and there. Much like in House. It was extremely predictable overall, but still rather enjoyable.

I have three empty 12 packs of beer and an empty bottle of scotch that say otherwise. Plus several small burns that I do not recollect getting. I just rarely get hangovers despite how much I drink. Got to throw the whole "sailor" thing out there as well.
