The Man with the Laughs

Gooooooooood-byyyyyyye Vietnaaaaam! That's right, I'm history... I'm outta here. I got the lucky ticket home, baby. Rollin, rollin, rollin'... keep them wagons rollin', rawhide! Yeah, that's right... the final Adrian Cronauer broadcast... and this one is brought to you by our friends at the Pentagon. Remember the people who brought you Korea? That's right, the U.S. Army. If it's being done correctly, here or abroad, it's probably not being done by the Army.

In honor of Robin Williams, I've decided to forsake the rules and simple post a lot of what made him special to us: his humor and ability to make us laugh!!

Genie: [turns into a cheerleader] Rick 'em, rack 'em, rock 'em, rake! Stick that sword into that snake!
Jafar: You stay out of this!
Genie: [Weakly] Jafar, Jafar, he's our man; if he can't do it, great!

When Christopher Reeve was in the hospital after his accident, Robin came to visit him. Reeve said this about that surprise visit:
Then, at an especially bleak moment, the door flew open and in hurried a squat fellow with a blue scrub hat and a yellow surgical gown and glasses, speaking in a Russian accent. He announced that he was my proctologist, and that he had to examine me immediately...it was Robin Williams...for the first time since the accident, I laughed. My old friend had helped me know that somehow I was going to be okay.
When Stephan Spielberg was filming "Schindler's List", Robin would call him to cheer him up. I think I only called him once, maybe twice. I called him when I was representing People for the Valdheimers Association. A society devoted to helping raise money to help older Germans who had forgotten everything before 1945. I remember him laughing and going 'thank you.'"

EoJ my copy has a beam right in the way of the actual mars bar and shows the the first attempt. Theres one on the BUTTs League FB page which is decent you could use which another teammate took.

I picked it up at Uni by pure chance, not sure why I decided to actually go. We have had several members who joined in the last year and have done very well, reaching close to BUCs wins and stuff. Admitadly only in Novice, but thats still decent.

Saw a 12th centuary re-enactment group thing at the Freshers fair while helping out, going to see how that goes. Can't go too wrong with bashing people with swords and stuff

What's a triple major? Is it the equivalent of a third of a degree in each area, or something more?

Sounds nice and squarely aimed at being suitable for finance departments and/or professional service firms though

A triple major means getting three bachelor degrees simultaneously.

Is this something you are looking at doing?

I think you have slightly misunderstood the nature of the course you are looking at... you cannot do three degrees in the space of one; that will not be what it means to do the three together. Obviously you will do less of each, although probably more work overall than someone doing only one. What you would get at the end, in English terminology, would be a combined honours, but just a single bachelor's degree. I don't know which country(-ies) you are looking at studying in however and, who knows, I could be completely wrong - either way "three for the price of one" will not be worth as much as actually three.

Nah theres no possible way to do 3 degree's even without sleep.

In 2nd and 3rd year I was at my wits end trying to keep up with all the assignments, projects and coursework as well as revision.

@Ed

Do you mean that I'd have to take those degrees one by one, rather than in 4 or 5 years? That could take more than 12 years. I think there's a way to pull off a triple major with three undergrad degrees rather than one, I've heard of people who did a quadruple major and one guy did a pentamajor.

@Greek_Scav

Well I think it's worth a try, and that it would be easier for me to manage because, in my opinion, CBSE schools put a lot of pressure on their students and that the subjects I might be doing are interconnected in some way.

@Ischenous

Multiple majors are indeed possible, especially in majors that are somewhat related- the required courses for the one might be part of the second. Back in the day when I pillaged my way through attended universities, the fuzzy subjects like History, Language, Foreign Language, Political Science (Ha!), Business Administration all had nearly identical rosters for the first two years. In the end, one only has to take a few extra courses (summer school counts) and voila- qualified for two degrees.

I will be attending University next year, doing a Batchelor of Arts, majoring in History, minoring in Ancient History and Politics and International relations. Pretty keen for it actually.

Right now in preparation for the HSC(my ticket to Uni), i am pulling 9 hour study days. I have 6 subjects, so doing 1.5 hours per subject per day. These subjects are broken into two 45 minute sessions with a 10 minute break between... I think i am organised..

I didn't mean that, I meant you could well do the three together but it would count as one degree in all three rather than three distinct degrees... alternatively yes I suppose theoretically you could do them end to end but I've never heard of anyone doing that before. xD

From what Terikel said however, just ignore me. His experience seems to be more in line with your understanding than mine is. Maybe a degree means something a little different in the UK to certain other places.

The UK system is much more different than many other countries. It's rare to do more than one subject for a degree and have it in your degree title, maybe the odd module/class/paper. Whereas in the USA everybody does a certain basic level of everything and 'minors' in a secondary subject

There is and there isn't.

On one hand, it gives everyone a certain rounding in everything. On the other hand, it gives people such as myself who genuinely struggle with certain subject areas a disadvantage

Trying to do 3 (generally unrelated) degrees in 4 years sounds to me like madness. Taking 5-6 years and getting the 3 would be much more manageable (feasible even).
