The Man with the Laughs

Gooooooooood-byyyyyyye Vietnaaaaam! That's right, I'm history... I'm outta here. I got the lucky ticket home, baby. Rollin, rollin, rollin'... keep them wagons rollin', rawhide! Yeah, that's right... the final Adrian Cronauer broadcast... and this one is brought to you by our friends at the Pentagon. Remember the people who brought you Korea? That's right, the U.S. Army. If it's being done correctly, here or abroad, it's probably not being done by the Army.

In honor of Robin Williams, I've decided to forsake the rules and simple post a lot of what made him special to us: his humor and ability to make us laugh!!

Genie: [turns into a cheerleader] Rick 'em, rack 'em, rock 'em, rake! Stick that sword into that snake!
Jafar: You stay out of this!
Genie: [Weakly] Jafar, Jafar, he's our man; if he can't do it, great!

When Christopher Reeve was in the hospital after his accident, Robin came to visit him. Reeve said this about that surprise visit:
Then, at an especially bleak moment, the door flew open and in hurried a squat fellow with a blue scrub hat and a yellow surgical gown and glasses, speaking in a Russian accent. He announced that he was my proctologist, and that he had to examine me immediately...it was Robin Williams...for the first time since the accident, I laughed. My old friend had helped me know that somehow I was going to be okay.
When Stephan Spielberg was filming "Schindler's List", Robin would call him to cheer him up. I think I only called him once, maybe twice. I called him when I was representing People for the Valdheimers Association. A society devoted to helping raise money to help older Germans who had forgotten everything before 1945. I remember him laughing and going 'thank you.'"

I'm thinking about doing a triple major, but I hate school as is so more years would suck.
You may find that attitude change once you reach college (although maybe not- if so, don't do a triple major ).

Yeah. Overall workload probably goes down for most of university, and the fact that you can (more or less) work to your own schedule really helps.

Heh heh heh. We had our have-a-go session today, too- looks like we could have done pretty good novices again this year!

I wasen't at mine but I've heard the same. I guess I'll find out tonight since we have another session.

I was helping out teaching on Saturday though when we have our inter-halls competition which includes archery. I learnt that I'm a poor coach and I take to many things for granted like 20lb bows being easy to draw. A suprising number can't pull it.

Yeah. Are you have-a-go trained? If you are you can help them pull it back by yanking on their elbow until it reaches their face. Each one of them does the frustrating thing of putting it on their cheek instead of under their chin though... You need a third hand to make them tuck their hand in the right place.

I just read that Tories mean Irish cattle thieves and Whigs mean Scottish robbers who usually murdered their victims. Quite some names for political parties.

Yeah. I'm not sure how they came to represent the two parties. Tory became a slightly insulting nickname rather than a party name. (although parties in this era were slightly unofficial) They became the 'Conservatives' in 1834, but split again in 1846, with the supporters of Peel and free trade remaining 'Conservative' and his opponents re-using the 'Tory' label, although the Peelites would later join with the Whigs to form the Liberals and the Tories taking over the Conservative label

And here I always thought the Tories were a bunch of Victorian women having an eternal festival, while the Whigs were false hairpieces so high upon themselves that they added an unnecessary h to their name.

I've been looking through a websites HTML for a project, they really really suck at making it readable. Comments would help the readability a ton.

No, making it readable would really help with readability. Comments should only ever explain why you're doing something, not what you're trying to do. In 90% of cases the why will be clear and so won't need a load of comments, and in the case of HTML that is actually served to a browser the % where you actually need a comment is probably even lower.

If you need comments to make sense of the code you've probably written it in an overly complex manner.
