The Man with the Laughs

Gooooooooood-byyyyyyye Vietnaaaaam! That's right, I'm history... I'm outta here. I got the lucky ticket home, baby. Rollin, rollin, rollin'... keep them wagons rollin', rawhide! Yeah, that's right... the final Adrian Cronauer broadcast... and this one is brought to you by our friends at the Pentagon. Remember the people who brought you Korea? That's right, the U.S. Army. If it's being done correctly, here or abroad, it's probably not being done by the Army.

In honor of Robin Williams, I've decided to forsake the rules and simple post a lot of what made him special to us: his humor and ability to make us laugh!!

Genie: [turns into a cheerleader] Rick 'em, rack 'em, rock 'em, rake! Stick that sword into that snake!
Jafar: You stay out of this!
Genie: [Weakly] Jafar, Jafar, he's our man; if he can't do it, great!

When Christopher Reeve was in the hospital after his accident, Robin came to visit him. Reeve said this about that surprise visit:
Then, at an especially bleak moment, the door flew open and in hurried a squat fellow with a blue scrub hat and a yellow surgical gown and glasses, speaking in a Russian accent. He announced that he was my proctologist, and that he had to examine me immediately...it was Robin Williams...for the first time since the accident, I laughed. My old friend had helped me know that somehow I was going to be okay.
When Stephan Spielberg was filming "Schindler's List", Robin would call him to cheer him up. I think I only called him once, maybe twice. I called him when I was representing People for the Valdheimers Association. A society devoted to helping raise money to help older Germans who had forgotten everything before 1945. I remember him laughing and going 'thank you.'"

Jax is right, this is better than having a forum full of idiots and trolls.

I wanted to post an idiotic trolling post but I couldn't think of one. Which part of that is more pathetic?

trools (trolls and tools, combined to save space )
I think your explanation took up far more room than your combination saved...

This forum is the best I have come across. Others just hate on any new folk or as you said just made of "trools".

Although, now that we've established what the combination means, we can indeed use it to save space as Darth did. Another victory for efficient writing!

It is just insane to me that this is stuff we are actually doing or in the process of creating. What other technology is there out there that makes you go "what the hell?! How is that possible!?"?

Anyone want Crusader Kings 2? I got the game as a token thing on Steam and I already have it. Steam name is Punic Hebil

Just wanted to add my 2 cents and say I'd gladly choose our small and tightly knit band of brothers over a horde of trools any day

Speaking of games, has anyone else every played Sins of a Solar Empire? I started getting back into it with a friend thanks to a fantastic Star Trek mod I found for it and it's gotten me into a bit of a science fiction mood

Wow. I feel glad not only for the man having got the opportunity to 'feel' things again, but also for ourselves as we've come so far. This is very good.

Dominicus, I have heard a lot about it from my very weird group of friends. I am thinking about getting it after my finals are over and I have enough time.

Yea I have the new one rebellion. It is a very interesting game but I don't really have the time to get into the multiplayer side of it, which seems to be its strong point.

when ever you truly sit back and look at some of the technology that we take for granted it is just amazing how ridiculous our world is. Good to hear I'm not only one here who's given Sins a go

As for my age, I'm going to be 28 in about 4 1/2 months. I probably should be panicking about it but honestly, I'm pretty happy with the way my life is playing out right now. The fact that I've started going out with a girl 5 years my junior might have something to with it, along with me happily embracing the "dirty old man" stereotype
