Also presumably not at all relevant (certainly not intended to be), my favourite reference from university was a particular element of someone's relationship being publicly described as "waving a stick in the Albert Hall" (neither party being a conductor as far as I'm aware)

Strax is good / funny and there were nice touches to the episode but overall I thought it was a bit nothingy, perhaps due to being rushed.

My instinctive reaction for things trying to be complicated (without adopting the proper 'timey-whimey' level of things) is to see if they're being clever, or just think they are (hence how timey-whimey can get out of things) - before sitting back to enjoy anyway. The general theme over the last couple of series was to try and be clever in an incomplete/inconsistent/needless way that a level of annoyance has built up, interfering with any enjoyment.

River has been dead 'for a very long time'? That's sort of needed for a lot of things to work, such as River considering the Dr to be exceedingly young the first time they met but there's only really bits of unaccompanied travelling to suck up the difference and probably isn't 'long' in the grand scheme of the Dr.

They're always a bit fast and loose with paradoxes and their importance, presumably the time-doodah was meant to override the changes inflicted by people entering it (or else Mr E Grant would have only thwarted the Dr a couple of times before the Dr died early, without odd bubble universes being created, no/different time-war etc, no reason for Grant to die entering his time-doodah).

What happened to the future Dr in his time-doodah, or was there an acknowledgement that there is no subsequent incarnation?

No acknowledgement- fan theory goes that the GI killed the doctor up to his present and not into the future rather than doing it all the way to the future, as Clara only saw 11 faces.

Yes, the timey wimey thing last series annoyed my mum, too. I followed but I think I prefer the type of time wimey exhibited in this second half of the series (event at end causes the rest of it, minimal "in between" messing around- like the end of bad wolf) than them being too clever.

Anyway, I get to skip school tomorrow, to work on a school project. I do not know what to think, but this will probably tell me whether or not I want to work as a programmer.

How does the biology track work in your schooling system? In the U.S., especially in college, chemistry (particularly the organic type) and biology walk hand in hand.

As for programming, I've done my fair share of programming PICs in regards to mechatronics classes and have found it to be something of a pain in the rear.

Well, in Greece we have 4 "directions":

The "theoritical", which includes: Ancient Greek Literature, Latin, Modern Greek literature and Modern History.

The "technological 2", which includes: Advanced Physics, Advanced Maths, Computer Programming and Business Management.

The "technological 1", which includes: Advanced Physics, Advanced Maths, Biochemistry and Electrology.

The "scientific", which includes: Advanced Physics, Advanced Maths, Advanced Chemistry and Advanced Biology.

Each student chooses one direction to follow. Besides the directions, we have the "general subjects", which are compulsory. These are: Maths, Physics, Biology, Ancient Greek language, IT, Greek history, Greek Literature, PE, English, Composition, Religion, Geometry and a one-year long team Project proposed by our teachers.

In order to enter a public university we give the Panhellenic exams in the following subjects:

All the "directional subjects"
Composition
One general subject of our choice, between: Maths, Physics, Greek History and Biology

I am rather disappointed by the XBOX One so far. Punic and i were discussing this and we both agreed that an Xbox 360 with improved processing, memory, and graphics abilities and we would be right and happy. I dont need something to play TV through, i just want to play games...
