The Man with the Laughs

Gooooooooood-byyyyyyye Vietnaaaaam! That's right, I'm history... I'm outta here. I got the lucky ticket home, baby. Rollin, rollin, rollin'... keep them wagons rollin', rawhide! Yeah, that's right... the final Adrian Cronauer broadcast... and this one is brought to you by our friends at the Pentagon. Remember the people who brought you Korea? That's right, the U.S. Army. If it's being done correctly, here or abroad, it's probably not being done by the Army.

In honor of Robin Williams, I've decided to forsake the rules and simple post a lot of what made him special to us: his humor and ability to make us laugh!!

Genie: [turns into a cheerleader] Rick 'em, rack 'em, rock 'em, rake! Stick that sword into that snake!
Jafar: You stay out of this!
Genie: [Weakly] Jafar, Jafar, he's our man; if he can't do it, great!

When Christopher Reeve was in the hospital after his accident, Robin came to visit him. Reeve said this about that surprise visit:
Then, at an especially bleak moment, the door flew open and in hurried a squat fellow with a blue scrub hat and a yellow surgical gown and glasses, speaking in a Russian accent. He announced that he was my proctologist, and that he had to examine me immediately...it was Robin Williams...for the first time since the accident, I laughed. My old friend had helped me know that somehow I was going to be okay.
When Stephan Spielberg was filming "Schindler's List", Robin would call him to cheer him up. I think I only called him once, maybe twice. I called him when I was representing People for the Valdheimers Association. A society devoted to helping raise money to help older Germans who had forgotten everything before 1945. I remember him laughing and going 'thank you.'"

So, Dr Who's 50th anniversary episode ... good, very good or excellent?

Very good, wasn't quite the very best. Still so enjoyable though. Christmas just looks fantastic; Daleks, Cybermen, Weeping Angels and The Silence plus more!

I feel like I'm the only one that doesn't really care for Dr Who. Everyones been raving all weekend about it and given me funny looks for not being bothered...

Also, I got this rather useless message today EoJ about something you wanted to tell me but they forgot what you said and couldn't tell me. Going to assume it wasen't that important

I watched Day of the Doctor, but I don't really care for it either. I think it kind of confirmed that I don't really like (or really dislike, to be fair) Dr Who at all.

I told them to flick you on the nose. Silly Trent.

Liverpool? Better off asking at OD, I was only ever up there with family. But it's nice and modern and shiny in places thanks to the city if culture stuff, and lots of cool things to do. In other areas, it's terrible and run down. Like most cities. I haven't been in a while.

The only reason I know anything about it is from friends who are rabid fans and from these forums (and OD), so I'm in the same boat, Isch. I suspect that like many things, those people who care about it are far more vocal than those who don't really care.

It might be a bit more difficult to dress up as Capaldi's Doctor though.

So much. It's terrible. During exam time I actually schedule in a half day of playing.
Edit: When I'm not around computers I don't get it at all. But if you're always on one and not playing but working instead, it gets annoying.

Ah, I've hardly had the chance to spend some time playing computer games, I get 1-2 hours every day on a computer, and none on exam days. CBSE-based education is really stressful and there's a lot of pressure involved, I can hardly squeeze in time for entertainment or for gaming.

I spend half my waking day on the computer, but haven't had time to play a game in months.

I don't think I could get away with it at work. Certainly not with the sound turned on.

Ah yes, working is the exception. But i was more leaning towards not at work but at home just browsing on your gaming computer. The temptation is there...

Yo Hannibal, you wouldn't be living in India, would you? Just because you said CBSE-based education, which is the primary Indian education board. And if so, what class are you in? Because I'm in 10th and haven't ever taken so much pressure like you yet.

Kuwait. But I have had the majority of friends as Indians so far.

I'm 11th grade, Commerce. I took it because I didn't want to get stuck up in Math (I've recently discovered my knowledge in Math is equal to that of a 2nd grader )

11th is a breeze actually. We have it much easier than the guys over at Science do. However, what's mounting all this pressure is trying to get really good marks, something which has been but a dream to me till this year However, you ought to get your basis right this year (11th), because next year's the real shiz. Although it's not going to be that hard, but you're going to have to make a lot of sacrifices to get enough time to study for all the subjects.

Don't be so excited though, I had to quit almost everything other than studies, and usually studied 12 hours per day (school days included) before the first Semester Exams. We're slacking off a bit now, but it won't be long before we're going to run into the Second Semesters, which by the way will include the year's portion, something like 50-70 chapters, I don't remember. Doesn't make a difference though if it's 50 or 70

Somebody broke into my house and stole my computers. I guess I won't be playing any games (or doing any work at home) for a while now.

It's not so much the loss of the laptop, as it is the loss of all the data on it, and the fact the bastards were in my room, that really irks me.
