The Man with the Laughs

Gooooooooood-byyyyyyye Vietnaaaaam! That's right, I'm history... I'm outta here. I got the lucky ticket home, baby. Rollin, rollin, rollin'... keep them wagons rollin', rawhide! Yeah, that's right... the final Adrian Cronauer broadcast... and this one is brought to you by our friends at the Pentagon. Remember the people who brought you Korea? That's right, the U.S. Army. If it's being done correctly, here or abroad, it's probably not being done by the Army.

In honor of Robin Williams, I've decided to forsake the rules and simple post a lot of what made him special to us: his humor and ability to make us laugh!!

Genie: [turns into a cheerleader] Rick 'em, rack 'em, rock 'em, rake! Stick that sword into that snake!
Jafar: You stay out of this!
Genie: [Weakly] Jafar, Jafar, he's our man; if he can't do it, great!

When Christopher Reeve was in the hospital after his accident, Robin came to visit him. Reeve said this about that surprise visit:
Then, at an especially bleak moment, the door flew open and in hurried a squat fellow with a blue scrub hat and a yellow surgical gown and glasses, speaking in a Russian accent. He announced that he was my proctologist, and that he had to examine me immediately...it was Robin Williams...for the first time since the accident, I laughed. My old friend had helped me know that somehow I was going to be okay.
When Stephan Spielberg was filming "Schindler's List", Robin would call him to cheer him up. I think I only called him once, maybe twice. I called him when I was representing People for the Valdheimers Association. A society devoted to helping raise money to help older Germans who had forgotten everything before 1945. I remember him laughing and going 'thank you.'"

Its the Christmas Rush.

Shopping, cutting down trees and putting them up inside houses, caring for little ones and exams, etc.

Speaking of which, what are your Christmas traditions? My Christmas Day is governed by tradition:
Early Christmas gifts with a breakfast of fruit and crossaints. The lunch with my grandmother and more presents, then dinner with my extended family that's is utterly annoying and outdated as a tradition. What is yours?

My Christmas (we call it Jul) is pretty much the same as always:

Go forth into the skaugen (forest) and chop down a likely tree. Capture three reindeer and tie them to the tree in order to get it home. Once at home, slaughter the reindeer and let the meat ripen. This happens late November/December.

Then I get my crew together, break out the longships, and sail to the south to get presents. The wife likes jewelry- so we hit up a church. The kid likes toys- the smithy and rich houses get a visit. The thralls like beer- so we raid a few taverns as well. Then we load all this onto the ships and head home.

On the fourth day after the longest night, we notice that the sun is returning. So we have a gret feast and give out the spoils presents and drink like rivers. The next day we all deal with the hangovers in our own way- mine is the Hair of the Dog that Bit me- I down a fifth of whiskey and bite the mutt that growled first. Usually works.

Well we don't really celebrate Christmas, except in my school (which is a missionary school) so we just pester our mother to get us a small bread cake.

Well, there's usually nothing special about Christmas in our home. Just a lunch with my extended family...

I highly doubt that you could resist the temptation of telling a war story and breaking your silence.

Also- exactly how much of Scandinavia has Terikel in the their genes?

Dunno...

Good question. Lets see, 1300 years by a dozen or so new women per year, of which roughly one fifth of the couplings would result in a Terikeling... Small communities with horny and rapacious men led to the Viking Age and the first great migration (The Viking Age was caused by Terikelings looking to screw something that was not a cousin, thus had to go abroad in search of wives and lovers). That lasted three hundred years.... Then came the Black Death so reset all calculations...I survived it, thus was stronger and could spread better among the other survivors (we do have such good taste and a zest for life, plus my survival genes were passed down so many other survivors shared them)... We were more fertile, thus double the previous calcs... And their kids having kids and in the various valley communities would lead to inbreeding thus the second great migration waves. Four point eight kids per descendant over 32 generations, squared..

I'd say in the vicinity of 40 percent.

i have a quick question, and I'm not sure it should go here or troubleshooting. Maybe just a buddy asking a buddy how to do something?

I recently downloaded EB, but whenever I start the game, it takes forever to load into the game, forever to load up the faction/saved game, forever to load into the battle, forever to load out of the battle, and forever to process the AI's turn. But, XGM runs just fine on my rig. What gives?

Hit it with a battleaxe a time or two to give it an instant attitude adjustment. Should it still work afterwards, I doubt it will give you any more problems. If it does, repeat.
